Minnesota StateUniversity graduates celebrate academic success
As the academic yearcomes to an end, thousands of students from Minnesota StateUniversity are preparing to graduate and take the next step in theiracademic and professional careers. For many, it marks the end of along and challenging journey, and the beginning of a new and excitingchapter.
Commencementceremonies are always a momentous occasion, a time for graduates tocelebrate all their hard work, dedication, and achievements. It isalso a time for families, friends, and loved ones to show theirsupport, pride, and love for the graduates.
For the Class of2021, the experience is undoubtedly different than usual due to theongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Although many universities and collegeshave shifted to virtual or hybrid graduation ceremonies, MinnesotaState University has opted for in-person commencement, with severalsafety protocols in place to mitigate the risks.
The university hasdivided the graduating class into smaller groups and scheduledmultiple ceremonies throughout May and June to allow for socialdistancing. Graduates and guests must wear masks and follow strictsanitization protocols. Despite the modifications, the spirit ofcelebration remains strong, as graduates walk across the stage toreceive their diplomas and wave to their loved ones cheering andclapping from afar.
The Class of 2021 isparticularly significant because of the unprecedented challenges theyhave faced throughout their academic journey. The pandemic hasdisrupted all aspects of life, from socializing to learning, andthese students have endured an extraordinary amount of stress,uncertainty, and isolation. However, they have persevered, adapted,and overcome, demonstrating resilience, grit, and creativity.
The graduates havenot only completed their academic degrees but also gained valuablelife skills and experiences that will serve them well in their futureendeavors. They have learned how to be self-directed and motivated,how to navigate complex and ambiguous situations, and how tocollaborate and communicate effectively with others.
Moreover, thegraduates have contributed to the university and the community inmeaningful ways, despite the limitations imposed by the pandemic.They have volunteered at local organizations, conducted research, andadvocated for social justice and environmental sustainability. Theyhave shown that even in times of crisis, there is still hope,compassion, and progress.
As the graduatesembark on their post-graduation plans, whether it be pursuing highereducation, entering the workforce, or taking time off to exploretheir passions, they carry with them the memories, lessons, andconnections that they have made at Minnesota State University. Theyjoin a vast network of alumni who have made significant contributionsto various fields and industries, and who continue to represent theuniversity with excellence.
The graduationceremony may mark the end of a chapter, but it is also the beginningof a new story. The graduates have the power to shape their futureand make a positive impact on the world, and the university is proudto have played a part in their journey.
